Article and blog writing training for law firms

Does your content show your firm's expertise and enhance your reputation?

Law firms live or die by their reputation.

Every law firm needs to produce content (in the form of blogs, articles and insight pieces) that establishes its expertise, enhances its reputation and reflects the firm's values.

Many firms fail to do this. As a result, they are losing credibility with clients and being left behind by their competitors.

Most firms rely on their fee earners to produce blogs, articles and insights. But most lawyers have not been trained how to do this. As a result, they lack the necessary skills and when they do write it takes up too much of their valuable time.

As a former lawyer and journalist, I believe that law firms owe it to themselves and their clients to produce content that builds their reputation. That's why I run the training course, Article and Blog Writing for Lawyers.

Who is the course for?

The course is suitable for lawyers at all stages of their career. It is especially useful for trainees, newly qualifieds, and partners who are worried that they are being left behind and missing out on connecting with clients and potential clients online.

Course content

The course gives delegates a process to work from when writing articles. The course content includes:

  • Planning your article: identifying who you writing for and coming up with ideas

  • Structuring and editing your article

  • Making your writing engaging and readable

After completing the course, delegates will have the skills and confidence required to produce content that establishes themselves and their firm as experts in their field, and remain front of mind with clients and potential clients.

Cost

The course costs £1,250 plus VAT for up to 12 delegates at a time and lasts two and a half hours.

Other training courses

We also run writing training courses for other business-to-business organisations, including accountancy practices, property companies and other professional services firms. We can tailor make a course for you, as required. Please contact us for more information.

Testimonials

“I thought the training was excellent and I learnt a lot of things (dos and don’ts). I think Simon presented it very well and in an interactive manner. 2.5 hours works well and although is quite a bit of time away from our desks if busy, it was all valuable material covered and I wouldn’t want to see the training session shortened as I don’t think people would then get the full benefit of it. Overall I think it was excellent and I am keen to see it rolled out to more members of the firm.”

Fiona Gillett, Partner, Stewarts

“Our team is a mix of lawyers, tax professionals and trust administrators.  Simon tailored his article writing course to ensure it was relevant and engaging for all.  The session has hugely increased the quantity and quality of the content available for our website and the team’s LinkedIn profiles.  Having Simon edit our articles and website content as a follow up has smartened up the firm’s online profile, made the team feel proud of the firm’s achievements and I believe it has increased the flow of traffic to our website.”

Zoë Camp, Partner, New Quadrant Partners Limited

"A must attend course, very insightful. Great examples and practical snippets of advice.”

Peter Kershaw, Paris Smith LLP

"Lots of helpful, informative advice that I will definitely take on board. Good interactive course, extremely well-judged. Humourous but incredibly educational.”

Alistair Myles, Levison Meltzer Pigott

“Well structured, interesting and relevant. I really enjoyed this course, it exceeded my expectations.” “Really useful, thought provoking content.” “Engaging course with good balance of teaching and participation. Links well with how writing will be used in practice.”

Delegates from Wilsons LLP

“The course was brilliant. Simon was really knowledgeable and a great trainer. I knew very little about blogging and didn't have a clue where to start. After the course I came away understanding the different content I could experiment with and some great ideas for topics that I hadn't even thought about.”

“The course is a ‘must have’ for anyone who wants to write effective copy online. Simon’s journalism background coupled with his business hat poised him to be the ideal person to deliver the course. What I found excellent was that Simon put us to work writing copy, editing, and generating ideas for online content. Simon is very skilled at clearly explaining things and ensuring we all got what we came to get on the course.”

“When the calendar reminder flashed up on my desktop, my first thought was to wonder why I had signed up to give up two and a half hours of a busy day. However, every minute was worth it and I learned a great deal. The materials and subject matter were very good and the presentation style was first rate.

Paul Sprague, Joelson

“Simon’s expertise was just perfect for us as it’s a combination of his legal background and journalistic education. That’s an ideal person to teach lawyers how to write content, which is a challenge for many legal firms. We found his session very informative and inspiring. I would recommend Simon’s workshop on writing skills to any professional services firm.

Zhanna Sutton, Head of Marketing, GSC Solicitors
